Guess the Mystery Thing: Little Black Tulips.

Callou callay, it's time for a new round of GUESS THE MYSTERY THING!  Anyone can play!  Simply take a gander at my latest upcycled jewelry project, these rings:

..and see if you can figure out the secret ingredient.

If you guess right, you could win one!

Or if you're a necklace person, I made a pendant, too:

What is that black tulip-shaped bit at the base of the flower?  It's from something very specific.  (Hmm, I wonder if you'll get this right away, or if it's a toughie?  To me it looks a bit obvy, but maybe that's only because I know the answer.)

How it works: Leave your guess in the comments.  There will be two winners: first correct guess and one random guess.  That's right, a random winner!  So even if you're stumped, guess anyway - you could still win.

This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere.  (You don't even have to be a follower of the blog, although I would lurve it if you were.)

The one and only rule:

1.  If your email isn't available in one click from an online profile, be sure to include your email address with your guess.

Ready?  Set?  Guess the Mystery Thing!

UPDATE: THIS  CHALLENGE IS NOW CLOSED.  THANKS FOR PLAYING, YOU GUYS!  CHECK MY NEXT POST FOR THE FUN REVEAL.

  10. I'm guessing a marker cap trimmed up. Whatever it is it sure makes a cool tulip.

  11. Could that possibly be the 'finger tips' from an old rubber gloves? Oh dear...I'll never able to guess your wild mind creativity!

  12. Okay, now that I've thought about it (and looked at novelties for a bit), my serious guess is the balls from ball and chain wedding shower favors. Detach the chain, slit them with a hot knife, pinch sides to open the cut, et voila! Little black tulips!

... I'm going to look either crazy or brilliant with this one.

  13. My guess is mini ice cream cones made of licorice. They sure make cute rings though!

  14. the bottom part of plastic flowers ?????

  15. It's possibly the fingertip of rubber gloves cut at an angle.

  16. uh, this one is driving me cra-zay! I swear it's some type of lid of some sort to some sort of plastic cylindrical tube...to hold dice? poker chips?

My first comment on here, ever!

I think it is one of those plastic grapes (split down the middle)that you see in fake fruit displays.

  25. I was totally gonna say Lego hair too but someone already nabbed that one darn it!... Ok... So my second guess will be... sheesh... Could it be the rubbery bulb end of an eye/medecine dropper that you've cut up in some fantastic way?... Maybe baby?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hmm...I was about to say medicine dropper. Um, well, maybe they're the top ends of ears from a rabbit shaped squeak toy!

  27. I think it looks like a plastic grape, or rubber grape that you kinda trimmed to tulip shape. That's my guess and I am sticking to it.

  28. It looks like fimo to me or a rubber ball gasket cut open. Oh, how about those old pop beads that kids used to make necklaces from? Though I never saw them in black. Great guessing game. Love the pendant mostest.

  29. A couple people have guessed lego hair, but I think it actually might be lego helmets, maybe from a viking ship lego set. That's my guess.
