Pupsicle of the Month: The Little and the Great!

Hi, my dearies!  It's that time once again...welcome one and all to February's Delicious Pupsicle of the Month!

Each month I take a tiny break from jewelry, to highlight a rescue dog who wants to come home with YOU and take you for walkies. As part of my Pupsicle Action Plan, I will contribute $75 towards the adoption fee of any of these cuties, and will deliver them right to your doorstep if you live anywhere in California, Nevada or Arizona.  (I love dogs and road trips, so this is a win-win.)

Oh, golly, once again I have to feature two pups.  One is the biggest dog at our shelter, the other is the littlest.  Let us start with...

Meet Alexander

Tiny Alexander is a young, cuddly Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, black and white and sweet all over!  Here's the thing: you will never meet a lover like Alexander.  He is the ultimate Fur Baby, and loves being held.  Wherever he is, he finds the nearest lap and makes a beeline.  Here he is with one of our senior volunteers:

Alexander is a people person, but he also loves other dogs and would get along just fine in a home with pooches, gentle kids and even kitties.  All he really wants is love.  Perhaps you are the one he's dreaming of!  Let's get him adopted for Valentine's Day!

And now...

Meet Yetti

Look at that beautiful face!  Yetti is a purebred Great Pyrenees, a giant breed with the kindest of temperaments.  He is HUGE and wonderful, weighing in at over 100 lbs.  And so gentle he lets us put the Chihuahuas on his back for photo ops.  Can you believe someone found him wandering the streets of downtown L.A., dirty, matted and skinny?  Look at him now.

Although he still needs to gain some weight, Yetti is young, healthy, and looking for an owner who has some experience with giant breed dogs, or the willingness to learn.  He is housebroken (yay!) and knows his basic commands (wow!), and will give you his paw the moment he meets you.  Have you always wanted a pony?  Yetti is a pony who will watch TV with you, all curled up at your feet.

Okay, you know the spiel...if you guys know of anyone considering adoption, get them over here!  Or send them to the Fur Baby website for more info.   Maybe Tweet or Facebook this post?  And you can click on my Pupsicle tab up at the top of this blog, to see more rescued sweeties in need.

Thanks for reading this, my wonderful peeps!  My fingers are crossed.

  1. What are te house prices in your area? I could possibly sell the house we live in (ignoring the insignificant fact that it does not belong to us) and come live somewhere near you so you won't have to undertake too long a trip? I'd adopt the pair of them straight away. I bet they'd look adorable together! If you promise to make a collar adornment for each of them, that is.
I lovelovelove doggies, and I bet I could convince the kittehs and The Man that life in California is nothing to snarl at :D D'you have bookies in your area with current vacancies?

  7. We have a Great Pyrenees, Daisy. She is 14 mos. old. A great breed! Wish I could get Yetti so Daisy would have a playmate. Wish I had seen this post yesterday, my husband was in Arizona yesterday morn until this afternoon. I told him he almost had a rider back home with him! That would have been a great coming home gift!!

So, if any of you reading these comments are wondering what kind of pet a large breed like Yetti would make, believe me, you will not be disappointed. They are very intelligent, loveable, loyal, wonderful dogs!

Hope you find great homes for both of them!
