Guess The Mystery Thing: Metal Flowers, Denim Rings

Okie dokie!  Let's play a new round of my giveaway guessing game, Guess The Mystery Thing.  I made some fun little cocktail rings from scraps of old blue jeans:

Kinda kute, eh?  Now then: what are those dainty bronze metal flowers in the center?

First person to guess correctly will receive a fabulous prize!  (Namely, one of these funky denim rings.  OR a groovy goodie bag of random crafty supplies.)
How it works: leave your guess in the comments.  There'll be two winners: first correct guess and a random winner.  That's right, I said random winner - so even if you don't know (or think someone else already got it), you could still win.  If your guess is funny, it might make my Most Creative Honor Roll.

This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere.  C'mon, join in!

THE ONE AND ONLY RULE

1. UNLESS YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS ONE CLICK AWAY IN AN ONLINE PROFILE, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS WITH YOUR GUESS.

Ready?  Set!  Guess the Mystery Thing!

UPDATE: THIS CHALLENGE IS NOW CLOSED - THANKS FOR PLAYING, EVERYONE!  CHECK MY NEXT POST FOR THE REVEAL.

    1. I think I know how you made it....You took the metal rossette which had a center hole, you got it from whatever.. mirror or ceiling tile ornament, upholstery tack, or curtain tieback... and pushed a white thumb tack through the metal rossette and the denim, and folded the thumbtack wire flat to keep it attached to the denim ring and from stabbing your finger while wearing it. Please remove the tack before letting Barbie using them as pasties. A bloody situation is not Barbie-like.

  5. My guess is a button, but I'm sure that's wrong.! It's like Final Jeopardy. When you answer too fast & say that's too easy, it's gotta be a trick question.

  9. before double sided sticky tape existed, they had to hold mirrors on walls with these floral do-dads. first they drilled a hole in each corner of the mirror and then hammered these thingummies in place to hide the ugly hole edges, (cause who wants to have to sand all those edges to make them smooth to only hide them anyways.) that's my answer and I'm sticking to it

  10. I think it's the part of a drawer knob that fits right against the furniture with the knob or pull coming up top. I'm painting furniture right now and I have one that looks very similar :).

  13. I've seen them in the hardware store, think they are either for using on doors or maybe lights. You made a great use of them.

  18. I agree that it's upholstery tacks. I. Was scrolling down to leave my answer and thought I was going to have it this time by myself but right before I reached the bottom someone else beat me to it.

  19. Those cuties look just like the backs of some brass drawer pulls I have....but they'd be too darn heavy to wear on your finger.

  20. So, I thought, "Oh! Oh! I know this!!!" Then I saw a couple of other people beat me to it... :( I just saw these at Home Depot. They are rosette buttons that can be used while installing ceiling tile, mirror, or other fixtures.
