Guess the Mystery Thing: A Strange Rumpled Flower

Hi, kids!  Time for a new episode of that exciting guessing game challenge, Guess the Mystery Thing and Win Even If You Think It Looks Weird Because Weird Is The New Cute At Least That's My Story And I'm Sticking To It But Even If You're Not Buying That You Will Be Extremely Special If You Win Because Nobody Else Will Have One Like It That's Fer Dang Sure!

"Guess the Mystery Thing" for short.

I made this bracelet, featuring a mysterious blue flower:

Huh.  Jeesh.  What the heck?  You might recognize the filigree cuff part from a long-ago post using dollar store headbands.  (Click here for the tutorial.)  But what, oh what, is that rumply blue thing?

Leave your guess in the comments.  There will be two winners: first correct guess and one random guess.  If nobody gets it, there will be two random winners.  So even if you're stumped, guess anyway, you could still win.  (The crazier the guess, the better!)  This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere.  (You don't even have to be a follower of the blog, although I would lurve it if you were!)

The one and only rule:

1. If your email isn't available in one click from an online profile, be sure to include your email address with your guess.

Okay, you guys.  Here we go...Guess the Mystery Thing!

  3. Hmmm, I think it's the bottom of a shampoo bottle - the one that comes in a bright blue bottle.

  4. Did you cut up some packing material? Too small for egg cartons, unless that was miniature chickens laying eggs. Love it!!

  5. I think that it is a rubber auto horn...pompom!! I know dollar stores dont sell those..maybe you abducted the alien who came to see your mardi gras beads sea anemone (tassels) and you skinned him to make this flower

  7. I think it's a collar from a clown head cupcake topper! You just ripped off the creepy clown head, leaving the collar to use as a flower.

  8. D'oh! It didn't leave my email address. It's nekomancyplush @gmail.com

  9. It looks like melted and then spray painted styrofoam. We made tiny hats for painted toilet paper roll heads with melted styrofoam cups when I was in elementary school.

  10. The melted bottom of a sippy cup?

  13. My oh my, you are a tricky one... you've taken a couple pieces of blue chewing gum, chewed them really well until all the deliciousness was gone and the gob of gum tasted like cardboard, and fashioned it into this delightful floral piece for your bracelet. so crafty and resourceful, Michelle!

  15. Is it a little plastic mold ( the kind you can use for making shapes in sand with kids in the summer) that you forgot a little in the oven ????

  16. Part of a liquid laundry jug melted to form a flower.

  17. I looks like rubbery material. Is it one of those silicone ice cube trays that you possibly cut the shape from? I like it no matter what it is.

  18. Okay, it looks rubbery, I think you cut it and it looks like it has some bumps. I need more clues! I have no idea what this is. Looking forward to you revealing the mystery thing.

  20. It's obviously reclaimed material from abandoned smurf house.

  21. It's one of those coin "purse" thingies that are oval shaped with a cut down the whole length of one side and you pinch the end together to get the coins out... you cut a slit in the other direction maybe you even turned it inside out? (:

  23. Hey,,,lots of confusion here...hmmm
well it seems like a rubber sheet simply but i feel its something else...!!!
is it any rubber shoe strip??or hot water bottle piece...!!!

  24. Hmmm....It sure looks like that silicone baking material. Maybe a silicone ice tray? Yes, that is my official guess. I'm always so surprised with the results. I wouldn't be shocked at all if you said it was from a smurf house.

  25. How about foam board that has been paintd and then heated until begins melting. No matter what it is, I love how your mind works and how you come up with these great designs!!!

  27. Have been trying to picture everything in my Dollar Tree (assuming it came from the Dollar Tree) and the only thing I can figure (considering the size it would be before it got rumpled), maybe a circle cut from the lid of a plastic food container. Anywho, I love it and the bead is a wonderful addition.
