Guess The Mystery Thing: Leafy Silver Stems

Time for a brand new Guess The Mystery Thing challenge!  (What is that, you ask?  It's my jewelry giveaway guessing game, and everyone is invited to play.)

Take a peek at my latest upcycle, these interesting bead and wire pendants:

Do you like them?  More importantly...recognize anything?  The Mystery Thing is the wirework.

What are those leafy little stem pieces?

First person to guess correctly will receive a fabulous prize!  (Namely, one of these nifty necklaces.)

How it works: leave your guess in the comments.  There'll be two winners: first correct guess and a random winner.  That's right, I said random winner - so even if you don't know (or think someone else already got it), you could still win.  If your guess is funny, it might make my Most Creative Honor Roll.

This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere.  C'mon, join in!

THE ONE AND ONLY RULE

1. UNLESS YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS ONE CLICK AWAY IN AN ONLINE PROFILE, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS WITH YOUR GUESS.

Ready?  Set!  Guess the Mystery Thing!

UPDATE: THIS CHALLENGE IS NOW CLOSED.  CHECK MY NEXT POST FOR THE REVEAL.  THANKS FOR PLAYING, EVERYONE!!!

  3. Me thinks it is a drapery hook. But since I have sworn off dust catcher drapes, I could be wrong.

  4. Like Michelle, I think they are paper clips..the ones that have the horizontal top wire and two triangles under it. Barbie's soap bubble wands!

  5. Oooh, I got this one! They're the metal loop/hook things used to attach unnecessarily complicated curtains to their rail. Last time I moved out of a rental, I spent a whole day fighting those wretched things. :)

  6. Those giant paperclips was my first thought but the people on the drapery theory are probably closer to right.

  8. I pinky swear I did not peek at guesses when I guessed those curtain hook thingies. I've been know to bend them every which way and use them to hang stuff from, but yours are prettier:-)

  12. Looks like one of those wondrous, ginormous document clips that can hold up to about 100 sheets of paper together. I'd always thought they'd make lovely jewelry, and you have definitely accomplished that!

  14. Dang it, I knew as soon as I seen it, like so many others, =( I'm still gonna leave my answer, maybe I'll get the random draw... It's drape hooks. I can always count on something truly inspirational whenever I see these Mystery Things up, and you never disappoint. Thanks for the fun! =)

  16. I believe they are called pleat hooks, which are specific name for light weight drapery hooks designed to hold sheers - knew my past life working in a fabric store would come in handy some day :)

  20. Ooooh! Ohhh!!! I know this one! My mom has an old vintage Danish Butter Cream Cookies tin FULL of drapery and curtain hanging stuff. These things DEFINITELY look like the heavy duty drapery hooks repurposed into a new craft! (I do believe I'm gonna go raid her tin soon for my next project!! LOL) email is dixonp @ att.net

  22. Well everyone is guessing drapery hooks or paper clips, but in truth, they are those mind-boggling wire puzzles that take a lot of patience and logic to get the two wires apart, but once you do, viola! you turn them into a necklace and no other unsuspecting person will spend countless hours trying to figure out how to get them apart!! I am proud of you...to spend all the time you did figuring out how to get the wire puzzle apart and still keep you sanity long enough to use them to make the necklace...awesome!!!
