Guess The Mystery Thing: Orange Hoops, Black Circles

Hello again!  It is high time we played another round of Guess The Mystery Thing.  (It's my groovy giveaway guessing game, and everyone is invited. Can you identify the mysterious secret ingredient in these swingy upcycled earrings?

What are those black and orange hoops?

First person to guess correctly will receive a fabulous prize!  (Namely, two pairs of hooptastic li'l earrings.)

Hint: although the colors speak of Halloween, the answer isn't really Halloweenish.

How it works: leave your guess in the comments.  There'll be two winners: first correct guess and a random winner.  That's right, I said random winner - so even if you don't know (or think someone else already got it), enter anyway, you could still win.  If your guess is funny, it might make my Most Creative Honor Roll.

This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere.  C'mon, join in!

  1. You upcycled old brass rings from the elvish carnival's merry-go-round. But you really should've polished the tarnished ones. No? What about plastic bead curtain rings? Washers? Dryers? DenaPage at gmail.com

  6. I won't mention that they might have something to do with a bull, but how about those thingies you put on your keys so you don't get them all mixed up like I do and end up carrying around two pounds of keys in your purse and then wonder why your shoulder hurts all the time.

  7. Did you take Mr Skeleton apart? He is missing some vertebra out of his cervical (orange) and lumbar (black) sections now! What will he do!!! Those kids will definitely be scared come halloween when he is missing more pieces....

  9. You ladies are a SCREAM!!! LOL!!! I absolutely love (and worry about) some of your answers!!! They do in fact look like some type of gasket seal for automotive like Michelle Pacey suggested, but they look to me like they are plastic rather than rubber (as most gaskets would be - first hubs was a mechanic) and look like they've been "snapped" off a central "frame" like the parts are maintained in a model car/plane/truck/tractor for your kids. That would be my guess. Whatever they are, I LOVE THEM!!! crafteeladee82@aol.com

  10. The black rings look like spray painted grommets and the orange rings look like you cut off the top of some kind of plastic bottle.

  11. They look like a halloween game where you throw or flip the circles over pegs.

  12. O ring cut off from rubber place mat!!!!

  13. They are plastic rings found in paint section. You put several paint chip samples on the hoops.
I know they come in black, I didn't see them in orange.
    COOL!
