Animal Domino Pendant Tutorial - No Tools Needed!

Behold these cuties...

Made from children's animal dominoes.

They are ridiculously simple to make.  Wanna DIY?  All you need are a wooden domino, a pushpin and two teeny eye screws from the hardware store.

And two minutes.  And your bare hands.  No tools, yay!

First, poke a centered hole in one edge of your domino.  The little hole will help you start the screw.

Start screwin'!  Twist until the eye screw is all the way in.

Repeat for the other edge, and kabing!!!  Your pendant is done, all ready to turn into jewelry.  Wasn't that easy?

Be as creative as you like with the necklace.  I added some extra wooden beads to the top of this cat/dog, and a swingy tassel to the bottom.

And my cat/cat sports a touch of bling, with a pretty crystal bail.  With the elegant white cats and the rich-looking chain, it's almost dressy, don't you think?

That's it for now, hope you enjoyed this quick little tute.  Cats ya later, dawg!

  2. SQUEE!!!! You know, this would look a million bucks on your doggies' collar, with the name and a contact number on the back. You'd have to secure the hook properly, of course, as I seem to think that pups are rather more active than the average hip necklace sporting Mich L- reader. Oooooooooor you could connect them all into a choker? (for aforementioned ladies, not the pups!) Or bracelets? Fancy a lil' black dress with a low back and a long chain of those babies dangling down the back of the wearer. Haute couture a la Madame Ell! Oh, wait, I know. Connect loads of them as a placemat and put the canine or feline overlords' food bowl on it. (Thanks, Sunny, for the overlord thing) I need a kids' domino set. Lovin' this post!

  5. Ok how much do you want for the cat/cat domino necklace? I would so buy that one off of you. I am a cat person like people would not believe. If my apartment would let me I would have at least 2 cats.

  6. Hmmm..sweet animal domino pendants following the castration bands upcycle...feeling SWEET all of a sudden???? I love using dominoes for pendants and wonder if I can use the pushpin technique on my black wooden ones...I could save a lot of aanraku bails for the cream colored ones. Thanks for the idea!!

  8. These are just the sweetest!! A pushpin? So that's your secret weapon. I always split the wood when I try to screw in one of those eye hooky things. So brilliant!
