Guess the Mystery Thing: Buttoned Up Wrap Bracelet.

Oh boy!  It's time to play a new round of Guess The Mystery Thing!  (In case you're new around here, it's a crafty giveaway game, open to all.)  Your challenge: identify the mysterious secret ingredient in my latest upcycled jewelry project.

I had a lot of fun designing this long, button-embellished wrap bracelet:

And this strappy little short one:

What is that pink material?  Think you know?  Betcha don't!*

*Famous last words.

First person to guess correctly wins a fabulous prize.  (Namely, your choice of one of these bracelets.)

How it works: leave your guess in the comments.  There'll be two winners: first correct guess, and a random winner.  That's right, I said random winner - so even if you don't know (or think someone else already got it), enter anyway, you could still win.  And if your guess is funny, it might make my Most Creative Honor Roll.

This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere.  C'mon, join in!

THE ONE AND ONLY RULE

1. UNLESS YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS ONE CLICK AWAY IN AN ONLINE PROFILE, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS WITH YOUR GUESS.  (Fun fact: if you only THINK your email is visible in your profile, it probably isn't.)

Ready?  Set!  Guess the Mystery Thing!

UPDATE: THIS CHALLENGE IS NOW CLOSED.  THANKS FOR PLAYING, EVERYBODY!

  4. Hmm... I haven't the froggiest... Is it some sort of grocery bag that you've cut up and sewn into pretty bracelets?

  5. I think it might be trim from something woven... a raffia beach bag, maybe?

OR! The waistband from some thrift store grandma thunderpants undies!

  6. Good morning...I think it is one of those fabrics you use to clean the windows...I don't know the correct English word for that one, hope you know what I mean...in German it is ccalles winddow leather although it isn't leather at all...but it looks like it.

I love your upcycled projects, just got to your blog and LOVE LOVE LOVE your creativity.

  7. Hmm. My husband and I think that it is the pull strip from the top of a charcoal bag/dog food bag. I would have never thought to make that into jewelry. At least that is what it looks like to us. That or some leather whips cut up. You naughty girl.

  14. I think it's the elastic edging around a regular bed sheet or possibly from a crib sheet or bassinette sheet. Whatever it is, you did an amazing job of turning it into a beautiful piece of jewelry, as always! The short bracelet is my favorite but they're both really cute! Thanks again for sharing your talents with us and bringing some smiles to every day.
